A huge overhaul of how Csper stores and aggregates reports has been completed. Analysis of large counts of reports should be significantly faster.
Development on a new API panel has started and will be moved from the Enterprise Plan to the Business Plan.
Under the hood, Csper stores every single CSP report it receives. This is a lot of reports. But it's useful because Csper always has the full source of truth (the reports), and allows customers to download their raw reports at any point.
When someone wants to do an analysis on these reports ("How many reports am I receiving over time, is there a spike?"), Csper will use database aggregations to gather statistics.
This works well up to ~million returned reports. But even with indexing, there are some aggregation operations that are tricky (specifically grouping similar reports but filtered on browsers and policy versions). One of Csper's big features/selling points is its flexibility in how you want to query the reports. But, as mentioned this slowed down at larger report counts.
But now Csper is actively aggregating and caching report groups in the background so the popular queries will be near instantaneous when doing standard large-scale analysis!
Development has started on a new API key panel. Previously the API was only useable by Enterprise customers, but soon the API will be available to all Business plan users!
If you have a use case for the API and would like to chat, please let us know at product@csper.io!
Otherwise, stay tuned for the release.
The CSP Zero to Hero video was released a few months ago. It covers everything someone needs to know to successfully setup and deploy CSP within an organization.
There are a number of smaller features that got pushed back due to the report grouping aggregation changes such as exporting reports to CSV. This development is being picked back up and should start soon!
